I'm starting a blog? What is this, 2004? Quick, can someone help me change the background on my Myspace?
In all seriousness though, why am I starting a blog NOW? Well, for me, and for a lot of 'creators' social media ain't working.
At least not for me, either in sharing what I want to share with an audience, nor in bettering my day to day life. And there's no animosity there. Social media companies are businesses, and businesses serve no other purpose than to make money for their owners. I can't be upset if they're not considering my business or my well being.
That's up to me. So here's what I've been considering. I'm going to start posting everything I would have shared there, here. I'm not completely abandoning social media, but I am going to use it as a means of driving people to my site, via a newsletter.
I put so much work into my work, and then more into trying to get people to see it, so why would I let that then be decided at the whims of an algorithm?
